In an unusual move, Canadian law firm Borden Ladner Gervais has appointed a chief artificial intelligence officer, which the firm said is a new role among Canadian firms that will keep it “ahead of the curve.”
In the new role, Lisa Chamandy, who was previously BLG’s chief knowledge and innovation officer, will be responsible for leading the firm’s strategy on AI, which includes making strategic recommendations on AI-related business opportunities, risk mitigation, financial investments, technology implementation, education and adoption, go-to-market strategy and data management.
