“Judge [Gail] Weilheimer has served the people of Southeastern Pennsylvania for decades, bringing to the table a wealth of experience ranging from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office to Abington Township Commissioner to the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas,” Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pennsylvania, said of President Biden’s judicial nominee to replace deceased U.S. District Judge Pratter.

President Joe Biden formally submitted state Judge Gail A. Weilheimer’s nomination to the U.S. Senate this week to replace the late U.S. District Judge Gene E. K. Pratter of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

A mover and shaker in the federal judiciary, Pratter died in May at age 75. She oversaw numerous high-profile cases during her 20 years of service as a federal trial court judge appointed by former President George W. Bush.
