Activision Blizzard owes Silicon Valley tech incubator Acceleration Bay $23.4 million in damages for patent infringement, a Delaware federal jury determined Friday, ending a trial that’s been in the works for nearly nine years.

The May 3 verdict stated Activision had infringed on two Acceleration Bay patents related to networking and broadcasting technology that was used in Activision games’ multiplayer functionality. The jury found Activision—recently acquired by Microsoft—liable for $18 million for infringement in World of Warcraft and another $5.4 million for infringement in two Call of Duty games.
