The claim, brought on behalf of class members who had different wireless carriers but texted and called AT&T Mobile users, alleged that the company’s own negligence resulted in an April 2024 cyberattack that leaked the call logs of more than 100 million AT&T customers, compromising their own data in the process.

  • AT&T was slapped with a data privacy lawsuit on Monday, one month after it disclosed a massive data breach.
  • It is currently facing ongoing separate litigation concerning another cybersecurity breach that it disclosed in March.
  • Cybersecurity experts say that the volume of data it collects, its failure to comply with FTC guidelines on cybersecurity, its lack of multifactor authentication and its connection to cloud computing company Snowflake are some of the factors to blame.

Keller Rohrback slapped AT&T with a data privacy class action just one month after the company disclosed a massive April cybersecurity breach that compromised the personal information of most of its customers.

The complaint was filed against the Dallas-based telecom giant on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Oakland Division. Counsel for AT&T has not yet appeared.
