A Supreme Court of Georgia ruling that broadened the meaning of “use of a motor vehicle” as provided under Georgia insurance and liability laws in October of 2023 is now impacting immunity challenges for law enforcement.

In a simultaneous move, justices both granted writ of certiorari and vacated a Georgia Court of Appeals sovereign immunity ruling challenged by a Fulton County woman injured during Roswell police officers’ vehicular pursuit of a suspect.
