Uber and Lyft have agreed to pay $175 million to Massachusetts to resolve a four-year-old lawsuit accusing the rideshare companies of misclassifying drivers as independent contractors.
The settlement follows similar deals the companies reached in other states, including a $328 million settlement with New York in 2023 and a $100 million agreement that Uber reached with New Jersey in 2022.
